Ms. Maria is excited to teach 3rd grade math as well as gym for all grades this year!
With a degree in Human Biology, she brings a strong understanding of the body and mind to her teaching. Additionally, her background is starting an operating numerous businesses has secured a logical understanding of mathematics as is applied in the real world. She is excited to share this understanding of math with her students to instill a solid foundation of logical reasoning, during the pinnacle year of third grade. She believes in strong aptitude for mathematics as a baseline for any other subject and, through hands-on lessons and student engagement, she is excited to watch students solve day-to-day problems both in and out of the classroom. To lead successful gym classes, her
background is secure not only in understanding of anatomy and physiology, but also in personal experiences with wrestling, cycling, and body building.Her previous experience working at THINKschool has given her a deep familiarity with the students. Although her background is not traditionally in working with students in a classroom, Ms. Maria has developed excellent communication and leadership skills through her various roles, making her well-prepared to engage students in both the classroom and gym.
